This work deals with studying the responce of an edge cracked plate subjected to combined tension and bending, i.e, uniformly varying load from zero at opening of the crack to maximum at the free edge of the plate. Simulation work is done using ANSYS and the obtained results are compared with those obtained from experiment. The results are validated with analytical results. This work is done for plane stress and plane starin conditions. Funded amount is Rs.4.5 Lakhs.
